Who is Emma Mackey?

Emma Mackey moved to the UK at the age of 17 to study English Language and Literature at the University of Leeds (2013-2016). After directing and appearing in various stage productions there, she started to pursue a career in acting and moved to London after graduating.

  • She has often been mistaken for Margot Robbie, and vice versa. This inspired Greta Gerwig to cast her as a Barbie in the film Barbie (2023), with the plan to shoot a scene with Robbie that would've included a doppelganger joke between their Barbies. However, when both got in their costumes and saw each other, they discovered that they didn't look alike at all, so the scene wasn't filmed.
