Patrick Dempsey’s Memory of a Killer Echoes One Unexpected Grey’s Anatomy Derek Shepherd Link

Patrick Dempsey returns to television in January 2026 with Fox’s thriller series Memory of a Killer, playing Angelo Ledda, a hitman diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. The role creates a haunting connection to his character Derek Shepherd from Grey’s Anatomy, who spent years researching a cure for Alzheimer’s before his death in Season 11. Derek’s work stemmed from his mother-in-law, Ellis Grey’s, battle with the disease and his wife Meredith’s positive genetic markers for Alzheimer’s, discovered in Season 9. Dempsey now portrays someone living with the condition Derek fought to cure, transforming his legacy from hopeful healer to desperate sufferer. Memory of a Killer Explores

Patrick Dempsey To Headline ‘Memory Of A Killer’ Fox Thriller Drama Series In Return To Broadcast

Exclusive: Former Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey is returning to broadcast TV as the lead in Memory of a Killer, Fox’s straight-to-series thriller about a hitman who develops early onset Alzheimer’s. The network is expected to unveil his casting at its upfront presentation Monday. From writers Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone, Warner Bros. TV and Fox Entertainment, the series is inspired by the 2003 Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer (La Memoire Du Tueur), which was remade as the 2022 American film Memory directed by Martin Campbell. Dempsey is set for the lead role played by Jan Decleir in the original movie and Liam Neeson in the American feature adaptation. In Memory of a Killer, Angelo Ledda (Dempsey) lives two totally separate lives — fearsome NYC hitman and sleepy upstate Cooperstown photocopier salesman and father. Both of them are threatened when he is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, a disease he already lost his older brother to.

New 2023 Netflix Christmas Movies (and Other Streamers) Ranked from Worst to Best

While you can always rely on Hallmark and other channels to provide a frankly overwhelming number of new Christmas movies each year, the streaming services have all been slower to crank out their own Yuletide romcoms and North Pole-centric misadventures. This year there are a solid half-dozen options among four streamers, starring plenty of familiar faces going through the usual holiday hijinks in suburbia: Christmas cards, delayed toy delivery, body swaps. I’m gonna warn you now though, there are no bonafide modern classics in this year’s batch, but neither are they all lumps of coal. The ones that tackle the debate of Santa’s existence do so in ways unique from one another, and the movies on this list that are most successful are the ones that get super myopic about

American singer releases ode to Belgian actor Jan Decleir in Dutch

What does an American singer-songwriter owe famed Belgian actor Jan Decleir? Apparently, an appreciation for the Dutch language. In 2006, San Francisco Bay Area native Amelia Ray spent three months studying Dutch at the University of Amsterdam. She was struggling to learn the language until she discovered the film Karakter in the university’s media library. In short order, Ray unearthed newfound motivation to study through a love of Decleir’s acting. In the Oscar-winning 1997 film Karakter, Decleir stars as the cold-blooded bailiff Dreverhaven. The role earned him Joseph Plateau and Paris Film Festival best actor awards. “I was struck by his ability to command entire scenes without uttering a word and his gift for portraying an overwhelming feeling of vulnerability,” Ray, who studied film at Howard University, says. “His films helped sustain my interest in learning Dutch, and I vowed to write a song letter to him one day.” For years,
