Before Gilligan's Island, Tina Louise Appeared In A Well-Liked Sitcom We Don't Talk About Anymore

After appearing in several stage productions in the 1950s, Tina Louise debuted on the big screen with the Western "God's Little Acre." The actress won a New Star of the Year Golden Globe for her performance, after which she headlined a war movie with future silver screen legend Burt Reynolds. Before she debuted in her most well-known role as movie star Ginger Grant in "Gilligan's Island," however, Louise got some sitcom practice in with a guest spot on ABC's "The Real McCoys." This mostly forgotten series aired for six seasons between 1957 and 1963, beginning on ABC before switching to the network that later hosted "Gilligan's Island," CBS. It focused on a

5 Legendary Actors Who Never Starred In Westerns

There isn't another film genre more alluring to directors, writers, and actors than the Western, particularly in the U.S. And because there are so many ways to approach the genre, it's accessible to artists of all creative temperaments. You can go classical, revisionist, spaghetti, acid, zapata, parody, modern, or a hybrid combining some of these sub-genres. You can even set a Western in space à la Peter Hyams' "Outland." The possibilities are endless. So, it's hardly surprising that it's hard to name directors who haven't tackled a Western. That said, it's even more difficult to name a major film star who's never saddled up in some manner or another.

Sean Penn’s Selfie Policy Has Absolutely No Exceptions, and His Tribeca Explanation Left the Room Speechless

Sean Penn has never been a celebrity who bends to Hollywood’s unwritten social contract, and a candid festival appearance this week confirmed that the actor’s particular brand of unapologetic honesty is fully intact. The three-time Oscar winner sat down at New York’s Tribeca Festival for a headlining conversation moderated by CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins, and the evening quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the entire event. The 25th annual Tribeca Festival is running from June 3 through June 14 in New York City, and Penn’s slot in the Storytellers series drew a capacity crowd eager to hear him speak freely. He had been scheduled to

Who’s our next three-peat champion?

by Cláudio Alves And just like that, Sean Penn became the eighth actor to win three Oscars. With One Battle After Another, Sean Penn became the eighth person in Academy Award history to win a third acting Oscar. He follows Supporting Actor king Walter Brennan, most honored thespian ever Katharine Hepburn, Swedish superstar Ingrid Bergman, New Hollywood enfant terrible Jack Nicholson, nomination queen Meryl Streep, method actor extraordinaire Daniel Day-Lewis, and too-cool-for-school Oscar favorite Frances McDormand. This honor comes after a period when Penn was fairly removed from the awards conversation, regularly panned at Cannes for his directorial work while winning the favor of a few critics for underseen performances
