Why watch this film?
Jonathan Glazer's experimental film 'Under the Skin' can be interpreted in two ways. On one hand, it can be seen as a mundane science fiction about an alien (in the skin of Scarlett Johansson) who arrives on Earth to feed - and feed her people - with men who are fascinated and enchanted by her beauty. On the other hand, Glazer traces an intense narrative that can be interpreted as a scathing critique of toxic masculinity and the emptiness of this woman in a world of appearances. Thus, 'Under the Skin' is an alien invasion story with layers, stories and possibilities that are slowly revealed, calmly. Therefore, it is important to watch the feature film calmly and patiently, open to the filmmaker's experiments, and knowing that not everything shown on the screen can be given as certainty.

The Fall
Jonathan Glazer created an incredibly engaging and frightening narrative in just 7 minutes. Masked people are seen planning an execution without a single word being spoken, yet the story still develops. Each viewer can take away a different interpretation of 'The Fall', which was inspired by Spanish painter Francisco Goya's painting 'The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters'. Glazer knows how to create an atmosphere of discomfort, something he had already shown in his movie 'Under the Skin' starring Scarlett Johansson.
The Zone of Interest
The vast majority of fiction films about the Holocaust tackle, in one way or another, the brutal violence suffered by its victims. However, with "The Zone of Interest", director Jonathan Glazer addresses the other side of the coin: the mechanisms of complicity that allowed such atrocities to happen. The plot follows Rudolf Höss (played by Christian Friedel) and his family, comfortably settled in a country house, a private paradise separated from the Auschwitz concentration camp only by a concrete fence. Without ever exposing unnecessarily graphic violence, the film delves more into its origins and consequences, allowing us to see the ways in which history and its dangers repeat themselves to this day.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is a new chapter in the franchise, although, truth be told, it doesn't bring much new. The duo are now allies in a fight for the fate not only of the Earth's surface but also of the world of the "hollow earth," where the titans come from. Don't expect here the deep anti-war allegory of Godzilla Minus One, the far superior Japanese film released just a few months prior. Here it's about seeing giant monsters smack each other in the face, like an hour of wrestlers aboard monster trucks. If that's what you're looking for, it's the movie for you. If you prefer some more humanity in your films, it's better to pass.
Code 8: Part II
Code 8 was an unexpectedly successful film, putting Robbie (from the series Upload) and Stephen Amell (Arrow) back on the map and captivating audiences with a compelling science fiction story. Now, the saga returns with an intense plot: after witnessing her brother's murder and the subsequent cover-up, a teenage girl with abnormal abilities seeks the help of an ex-convict (Robbie Amell) and his former crime partner (Stephen Amell). Together, they confront a unit of corrupt police officers who use advanced robotic technology to avoid being exposed. A clever and entertaining sequel.
