Why watch this film?

In "Febre do Rato," filmmaker Cláudio Assis (of "Amarelo Manga" and "Big Jato") tells the story of an unconformist and anarchist poet who fills his days with his subversive poems until he meets the beautiful Eneida, who injects a love story into his mundane life. The black and white serves as a contrast between the protagonist's life and his intense, never-achieved sexual desires. Provocative and intimate, it is an urgent and necessary Brazilian film. Special mention for the powerful performance of Irandhir Santos ("Tatuagem").

Plot summary

The poet Zizo, a pure-bred anarchist, is lost as soon as he meets the sober Eneida. She doesn't mind being his muse, but she won't go any further than that - whereas in Zizo's circle of friends, made up of social losers, Bohemians and other proud outsiders, everyone goes to bed with everyone else.
