Trailer

Why watch this film?

Do you want a provocative, strange and somewhat disturbing drama? Then 'Swallow' is a good choice. Directed and written by Carlo Mirabella-Davis, who makes his debut in fiction feature films, the movie follows the journey of a pregnant housewife (Haley Bennett, magnetic in her performance) who develops a curious illness: swallowing objects at random. She swallows stones, pins, clips. In this way, Mirabella-Davis dives into this curious psychological deviation, which is real and affects thousands of people around the world. Unfortunately, it does not go beyond the surface when exploring this health issue. The highlight is Bennett ('The Girl on the Train'), who steals the scene with a performance that mixes desperation, strangeness and loneliness. Swallow it dry and enjoy the movie. It's worth it.
