Why watch this film?
One of Disney's classics adapted from the well-known Brothers Grimm fairy tale, published in 1812, which was based on two other stories from the 1600s. It is important to note that due to its age, the female role has become a target of criticism today. In most fairy tales, the goal of the protagonists is to find love. The cartoon gave rise to one of the most memorable villains, Maleficent, who is so interesting that she even got two solo films also by the Mickey Mouse studio. 'Sleeping Beauty' has an impeccable soundtrack, which was nominated for a Grammy and an Oscar for best music - composer George Bruns, Tchaikovsky's 'Sleeping Beauty' ballet. The animation was the last fairy tale produced by Walt Disney and marked the end of the studio's Golden Age in 1959.

Robot Dreams
Sometimes we get so carried away by the marketing power of studios like Disney Pixar, and we overlook other avenues for deep and powerful animated stories that don't need excessively complex plots to evoke emotions. Such is the case with Robot Dreams, a Hispanic-French production directed by Pablo Berger (2012’s Snow White), based on the eponymous graphic novel by Sara Varon. Set in New York during the 80s, the story follows Dog, whose solitary life leads him to buy a robot for companionship. Their friendship grows, but an unfortunate day at the beach forces them to separate and long for the day of their reunion. Virtually without dialogue, with vibrant animation and a captivating visual language, the film tells a simple yet profoundly moving story about (curiously) human relationships and the course they take despite (or because of) accidents, fortuitous circumstances, and uncontrollable events that happen throughout life.
