Why watch this film?

There is no doubt that Djin Sganzerla lives up to her surname. Daughter of the great Helena Ignez and Rogério Sganzerla, the actress and now filmmaker makes her debut behind the camera with the sensitive 'Mulher Oceano'. Here we follow two women (both played by Djin) divided by an ocean. On one side, a writer in Japan trying to find the tone of her story about a woman she saw only once. On the other, a woman in Rio de Janeiro dealing with transformations in her life. These two stories, so opposite and complementary, play with the meanings and even with the sense of what is real and what is imagination. Good debut movie from Djin, who knows how to play with the senses and emotions of the viewer with strength and delicacy.
