Adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's play "Pygmalion", written in 1913, gets its third cinematic version. The first was "My Fair Lady" starring Audrey Hepburn in 1964, then came "She's All That" in 1999 with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook. Now Netflix has brought "He's All That", a teen comedy made for the TikTok generation. In the original story, a man transforms a woman into a high society lady, in this retelling we have a role reversal. Digital influencer, in real life and fiction, Addison Rae gives life to a popular girl who has the challenge of transforming a shy boy (Tanner Buchanan) into the king of the school ball. Directed by Mark Waters ("Mean Girls"), the movie is fun, the actors are charismatic and the story, although it is known, is good. Thanks to the director, who is already known in the genre, the narrative, with a more current air, works for both the older and teenage audiences. And it's great to see Rachael Leigh Cook and Matthew Lillard again, who also participated in the 1990s version.

Starring Adam DeVine ('Pitch Perfect', 'Modern Family') and Gillian Jacobs ('Community', 'My Best Friend's Girl'), 'Magic Camp' is a harmless, middle-of-the-road comedy, and thus, somewhat predictable. This is a production that should entertain children based on DeVine's charisma, though it does little to spark the interest of adult audiences. In the end, it ends up being like the old Disney TV productions from the 1990s: somewhat obvious and cheesy, but with potential to please and entertain the younger ones.
Mean Girls
One of the most famous and creative teen movies of the 2000s. Based on the book 'Queen Bees & Wannabes' by Rosalind Wiseman, this is a comedy that doesn't lose its originality, standing out from other feature films with the same theme. Still, you can see a slight inspiration from 'Fatal Attraction', an 80's teen black humor movie with Winona Ryder. 'Mean Girls' was released in 2004 and is still highly praised by critics, and a good example of how a teen movie can be critical, mature, and creative!
