AINBO: Spirit of the Amazon

Replace the title 'Ainbo: A Guerreira da Amazônia' with 'AINBO: Spirit of the Amazon'. The Amazon is an impressive cultural, natural and social pantry. After all, in this forest that covers territories of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Venezuela, there is an effervescence of stories. That's why it's so interesting a movie like 'AINBO: Spirit of the Amazon', a Peruvian animated feature film. Directed by the duo Richard Claus and Jose Zelada, the feature film tells the story of Ainbo, a young girl who was born and raised in the depths of the Amazon jungle, in the village of Candamo. Her life changes, however, when the situation of her tribe takes on somewhat tragic contours. It is the cue for her to go on a journey through the Amazon, along with a pair of spiritual guides, to save the place from illegal exploitation and find the "Mother Spirit". Aesthetically, there are no great innovations. The directors use 3D animation without much inventiveness and which, unfortunately, does not show all the beauty and grandeur of the Amazon region. Still, despite this below-expected visual, younger children should be content and certainly won't care about technical limitations. Ainbo, after all, is a good Amazon warrior to enter the imagination of children. Although a bit naive and even too pasteurized, without any attempt to deepen her personality, she is friendly and has a well-defined journey - with bad supporting characters, like a copy of Timon and Pumba, but that entertain. It is a simple movie, too much so, but that should make very small children dive a little into this Amazon journey.
