Why watch this film?

Horror films became popular in Italy between the 1960s and 1980s. However, after the successes of filmmakers such as Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Pupi Avati and Mario Bava, this genre was forgotten in Italian cinema. 'Il Nido', by Roberto De Feo, works as a renewal of terror in Italy, sailing on the wave of Robert Eggers - who ended up giving a new face to this type of production with 'The Witch' and 'The Lighthouse'. Along with cinematographer Emanuele Pasquet (also from 'A Classic Horror Movie'), De Feo creates an impeccable and extremely precise atmosphere, making us dive into strangeness and anguish. Despite the ending being a bit predictable, the whole development of the narrative is very well done.
