Why watch this film?
Gradually, cinema is discovering that there is love in old age. After the touching success of 'Our Nights', it is William Shatner's turn - the eternal Captain Kirk of 'Star Trek') to star in 'Accelerating for Love' ('Senior Moment', in the original) - a romantic comedy also starring Jean Smart ('24 Hours'), Christopher Lloyd ('Back to the Future') and Don McManus ('Justified'). In the story, Shatner plays a former NASA pilot who, after having problems with his beautiful convertible Impala, is forced to use public transport - where he finds love. Simple, light and fun, it is a romantic comedy for those who do not give up believing in love, no matter what age it arrives. That said, don't expect anything beyond a movie with a lot of heart: it is a production with the air and aesthetics of 1990s TV - which can be a quality or demerit, depending on the point of view.
