Why watch this film?

Although filmmakers Eduardo Escorel and Lauro Escorel remain in a strange (and complicated) boundary between propaganda and cinema, 'SARS-CoV-2: Time of Pandemic' is yet another production born of its time and that, at some point, may serve as a historical document to understand what happened during the pandemic of the then new coronavirus. While '76 Days' talks about the desperate routine of hospitals in Wuhan, 'The Vaccine Race' talks about the search for a cure and 'Coronavirus: The Untold Story' addresses the craziness of conspiracy theories during this period, this Brazilian production focuses, above all, on All for Health, an initiative created within the Itaú Foundation to help fight the coronavirus. There is a strange feeling, since many other initiatives and struggles took place in Brazil during this somber period of history - not to mention that there are almost only white men representing the institution, forgetting the people who really suffered during the period. Still, as said, it is a good historical record for those who want to retrieve information and some emotions from everything that unfolded in the Brazilian territory during the covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to following this committee, the documentary brings reports from frontline professionals, working in São Paulo and Manaus, about the experience of going to Covid-19 to take care of patients and the elderly.
