Why watch this film?

Movies about Christmas, of course, already have a certain nostalgia in the air -- that wintery atmosphere, the family gathered, the colorful sweater. And when this movie brings an even more nostalgic feel, setting the story in a past decade? '8-Bit Christmas' tells the story of Jake Doyle, a ten year old boy who engages in a true battle to get the best Christmas present of his time: a Nintendo Entertainment System, the famous NES or, affectionately, the Nintendinho of many of our childhoods. Directed by Michael Dowse, who has already shown skill for light and friendly films like 'What If?', it presents a typical 'Afternoon Session' plot, with a predictable but enjoyable story to watch -- it's an ideal movie to spend the afternoon, without pretension, to get into the Christmas spirit at any time of the year. In the cast, there is also the virtuous and funny presence of Neil Patrick Harris ('How I Met Your Mother') and Steve Zahn ('Modern Family'), which sweeten even more this good production.
