Why watch this film?

"Le Rayon Vert" is one of the great French films of the 1980s. Directed by Éric Rohmer, it is loosely based on Jules Verne's work of the same title, taking place in France at that time. Thus, we have a beautiful narrative about self-discovery, with empathetic and relatable characters - touching on themes such as loneliness, anxiety, and depression. After all, who has never gone through failed relationships and the need to find a new direction when nothing works out? Special mention for the great performance of Marie Rivière ("Autumn Tale").
