Why watch this film?
Think of a mix of Wes Anderson and Yorgos Lanthimos. It's this strange and unusual blend that comes to mind during the screening of 'The House', an exclusive stop motion animation from Netflix. Directed by four hands by Paloma Baeza, Emma De Swaef, Niki Lindroth von Bahr and Marc James Roels, the production is divided into three stories that follow families in the same house. It starts with people, then goes to a mouse, and finally ends with a cat trying to give life to that house in an almost apocalyptic scenario. The stop motion is careful and the voice work of the actors, which in the original features Matthew Goode, Helena Bonham Carter and Mia Goth in the cast, helps to bring the necessary disturbance - after all, it is worth saying, it is not for children, since the plots contain bizarre and very disturbing details.
