Why watch this film?

In 'Jupiter', Rafael Vitti ('Rock Story') brings to life the titular character of the film in his feature film debut. In the story, Vitti is a chess player who, after losing his mother, goes to live with Mário (Orã Figueiredo), his father - whom he had never met - and who is a private detective specializing in uncovering adultery cases. The rediscovered son, however, is precisely the result of an extramarital relationship, which shakes Mário's 25-year relationship. Thus, 'Jupiter' brings good reflections on family and also shows the competitive side of chess as a sport. It is a delicate film about relationships, in general, be it within the family, in friendships or in romantic interests. Director Marco Abujamra does a great job in his first fictional feature film.
