Why watch this film?

Louis Wain was a British artist, composer and inventor who lived from 1860 to 1939. As you can see, Wain had knowledge on many different topics - even theories about electricity. However, what made him truly famous was painting cats, of all kinds of possible types, and his trademark were the big eyes of the felines. No doubt, you must have seen some of Wain's paintings. 'The Electrical Life of Louis Wain' tells the story of the artist, who came from a family of six siblings, being the only boy. Everyone in the family had some mental illness, just like him, who suffered from schizophrenia. His imagination went far, something remarkable in much of his work. A fascinating personality, which in the movie he is portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch - in yet another great job. The film is a good biography, great to get to know more about the artist, and the cast still counts with Claire Foy ('The Crown'), Andrea Riseborough ('The Grudge'), Toby Jones ('A Boy Called Christmas') and Aimee Lou Wood ('Sex Education').
