Trailer

Why watch this film?

An animated production from the Japanese studio Liden Films for Netflix. 'Kanna and the Gods of October' is the story of a girl who, after a year of having lost her mother, discovers an entirely new world thanks to a bracelet she inherited from her. Now, upon coming into contact with the gods, she must traverse Japan to make it on time to a gathering of deities in a sacred land. The animation, while not at the level of the acclaimed Studio Ghibli or Studio Chizu, is cute, colorful and of quality, which combined with its beautiful (but never condescending) story about loss and learning to face pain, makes it an underrated gem among anime movies on the platform.
