Why watch this film?

The beginning of 'Monday' is more than promising. With an interesting filming style from Greek newcomer Argyris Papadimitropoulos, the movie reminds of 'Before Sunrise' as it tells the story of a couple who meet at a party in Greece, have an amazing night and then have to face the departure. After all, she (Denise Gough) decides to leave Greece to take advantage of a job opportunity in the United States. He (Sebastian Stan), meanwhile, has no plan whatsoever to leave there. He is a DJ, does some work with soundtracks. He has a life, in short. How will this couple face Monday's departures after this wonderful weekend? From there, Papadimitropoulos weaves this plot full of ups and downs, highs and lows. The fact, however, is that 'Monday' has a great premise, worthy of great romance movies. The cast is also committed to their roles, bringing good moments. The clear and colorful photography helps to give the overall tone of the film. Then, however, the production takes on an unexpected experimental tone, which walks between flavors of romances. It starts like 'Crazy in Love', evolves into a 'Before Sunrise' and, in the end, turns into a mix of Gaspar Noé with the Safdie brothers, shocking through love and the unknown. The highlight goes to Stan, here out of his comfort zone.
