Why watch this film?
Comedies featuring police duos are usually quite entertaining and 'Loin du périph' fits well into this niche. Omar Sy ('Lupin') and Laurent Lafitte ('The Origin of the World') are former work partners who haven't spoken to each other in a long time, and are forced to reunite for an investigation and must revive the partnership they had in the past. Even though this type of story is hackneyed, this French production manages to give it a refresh and deliver a good dose of suspense, humor and emotion. After all, any movie that talks about friendship can touch us a little, right?

Now You See Me
Criminal movie that avoids any cliches of the genre, 'Now You See Me' is a delight for those who enjoy magic, miraculous investigations and, mainly, don't care much for the logic of movie stories -- after all, we are talking about magic! Here, we follow the story of a group of illusionists who become the target of FBI investigation after suspicion of a series of "impossible" crimes committed by them. From then on, with a cast led by names like Mark Ruffalo, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Jesse Eisenberg, we dive into the story of this group and, above all, into how the magic is created and performed. A movie to let yourself be carried away by the slightly absurd story, but that leaves anyone enchanted with all its possibilities.
Fast X
Where to go when all limits have been pushed? After tanks, submarines and even cars in space, the Fast X saga chooses to do what it has done for two decades: bet on the most absurd car stunts and take its characters on a mission around the world with Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) at the center of it all, defending his family. The plot of Fast X picks up the story with the family living peacefully until the past catches up to them: Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa), son of Hernán Reyes (the villain from the fifth film), is hunting Dom and his team seeking revenge. From this premise of escapes and revenge - recycled at least since the seventh film of the saga - we see everything that we are used to: fights and chases around the world, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson playing around, and Vin Diesel defying the laws of physics with the power of faith, his biceps and his family. Despite there being some higher risks here, overall it's the same formula. Fans of the saga will love it, but those who expect Fast X to be the point where the saga starts to innovate, may want to give up hope. Read our full review of Fast X.
The Incredible Hulk
The second movie from Marvel Studios, betting on a hero who was already well known to the audience. Unfortunately, this ends up being one of the weakest feature films from the House of Ideas - the lack of experience of the company at the time, as well as the difficult relationship of the star Edward Norton with the director and producers, is clearly felt. The result is a weak script, which is worth only for the action scenes - even if the special effects have not aged well. Although the story introduces Hulk into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studio later chose to cast a new actor for the role of Bruce Banner. It's worth watching, of course, as part of the wider package of superheroes from the House of Ideas.
