How many lives are taken with a war like Ukraine and Russia's? How many dreams end, how many loves are interrupted, how many families are torn apart? It is precisely with this in mind that 'Klondike' dives in. Directed and scripted by Maryna Er Gorbach ('Omar and Us'), the feature film tells the story of a Ukrainian family living on the border of Russia and Ukraine during the beginning of the war. Irka refuses to leave her home even when the village is captured by the armed forces. Soon after, they find themselves in the center of an airplane crash disaster. Strong and powerful, the feature film shows a sad thematic permanence, crossing the years and decades through good reflection and ideas, showing its relevance as cinema.
