Why watch this film?
Success of MTV from the 1990s, the duo Beavis and Butt-Head is rescued as another weapon of Paramount+ in the streaming war. However, instead of reinventing the wheel (like Disney did with 'Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers'), 'Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe' simply sounds like a new chapter of animation, just produced more than 25 years later - and that's great. Now, that doesn't mean we have more of the same: the two are transported from 1998 to 2022 in a completely nonsensical and crudely humorous adventure, which yields interesting parallels between the past and the current world. There are jokes even about male privilege and the multiverse theme, which invaded audiovisual. The result is a silly and stupid feature film. In other words, exactly what we expect from Beavis and Butt-Head.

Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver
It was said about the first installment, and it can be said about Netflix's Rebel Moon (Part Two): it is a movie that only Zack Snyder fans will enjoy. The film continues to be a copy of the classic 'Seven Samurai', but in space: our heroes, led by Kora (Sofia Boutella), return to their small agricultural moon to prepare the defense against the invaders from the Empire. The story unfolds in a predictable manner (even more so if you've seen Kurosawa's classic), with Snyder's usual stylistic vices: overuse of slow motion and gratuitous Christian symbolism. If you liked the previous one (or the director's other movies), you will undoubtedly enjoy it. Otherwise, it might be better to skip it.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
The MonsterVerse has successfully brought to the screen the battles of the two most iconic giant monsters in cinema, King Kong and Godzilla, the latter in its American reinterpretation. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is a new chapter in the franchise, although, truth be told, it doesn't bring much new. The duo are now allies in a fight for the fate not only of the Earth's surface but also of the world of the "hollow earth," where the titans come from. Don't expect here the deep anti-war allegory of Godzilla Minus One, the far superior Japanese film released just a few months prior. Here it's about seeing giant monsters smack each other in the face, like an hour of wrestlers aboard monster trucks. If that's what you're looking for, it's the movie for you. If you prefer some more humanity in your films, it's better to pass.
Code 8: Part II
Code 8 was an unexpectedly successful film, putting Robbie (from the series Upload) and Stephen Amell (Arrow) back on the map and captivating audiences with a compelling science fiction story. Now, the saga returns with an intense plot: after witnessing her brother's murder and the subsequent cover-up, a teenage girl with abnormal abilities seeks the help of an ex-convict (Robbie Amell) and his former crime partner (Stephen Amell). Together, they confront a unit of corrupt police officers who use advanced robotic technology to avoid being exposed. A clever and entertaining sequel.
