Why watch this film?
Released during the pandemic, the first Extraction, with Chris Hemsworth, became one of the most successful action movies in Netflix history. For the sequel, director Sam Hargrave sets out to do "more": more action, more explosions, more fights, and more context for the protagonist, mercenary Tyler Rake (Hemsworth), who now has to embark on a dangerous mission to extract a mafia family from prison. While it succeeds in being more spectacular, Extraction 2 fails to provide greater depth to its protagonist, much of which is due to an inexperienced handling of the narrative pace, which simply breaks when the script tries to delve deeper into this part of the story. If you liked the first one, this sequel will be phenomenal for you. Otherwise, you may want to let it pass.

This movie is the directorial debut of stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave, who worked on mega action productions like 'Atomic' and the films of the Russo brothers, such as 'Captain America: Civil War' and 'Avengers: Endgame'. That's why 'Extraction' will probably leave you satisfied with its spectacular and hyper-violent action sequences. The feature film is also produced by the Russo brothers, in addition to being co-written by Joe - and it also features Chris Hemsworth, the Thor of the movies, as the protagonist. Marvel fans will certainly be pleased, even though the movie has its flaws.

The Fall Guy is one of those films that seem designed to have it all and thus please the broadest audience possible. Based on the 1980s series of the same name and directed by David Leitch (former stunt double and now director of films like Bullet Train and Deadpool 2), the movie follows Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling), a down-on-his-luck stunt double who must investigate the mysterious disappearance of actor Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), as this would ruin the first movie of his beloved, filmmaker Jody (Emily Blunt). And the major problem with this movie is that it tries to be everything: romantic comedy, action comedy, Hollywood satire, crime mystery, and more, hampered by the magnitude of its own ambitions, as well as an overloaded and unclear script. You can enjoy it as an insight into the world behind action cinema, and for the charisma of Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt.
