Plot summary
In the fairytale kingdom of Babenhausen, a young, self-appointed expert on love, Mr. Cazotte, is hired by the scheming Grand Duchess to help her secure an heir. While searching for a suitable future Princess, Mr Cazotte teaches the timid and introverted Crown Prince Lothar the art of seduction and lovemaking. But their plan soon backfires, when an heir is conceived out of wedlock and the royal family has to seek refuge in the castle of Rosenbad. Here, as rivals within the royal family close in on their scheme, Cazotte himself falls in love with Ehrengard, the maid of honor, and gradually learns that in fact, he's no expert on love at all.

'Pagten' is an ideal production for those who enjoy literature and also for those who like a good story. If you are unfamiliar with who Karen Blixen was, you will love embarking on her journey, which also serves as a tribute to her career - that the greatest commitment was to tell stories. The film is very well constructed in terms of technical terms, great photography, editing and soundtrack, all very delicate, creating an atmosphere that brings us closer to the protagonist.

"The Last Soldier," directed by acclaimed director Bille August, is a must-see for those who love historical war dramas. With exhilarating action sequences, the film portrays Japan's role in World War II while telling the story of a love between an American soldier and a Chinese widow (Liu Yifei of Mulan). The talented Emile Hirsch, known for his roles in "Into the Wild," "Speed Racer" and "Neighbors," brings the main character to life. The film was also featured at the prestigious Shanghai Festival.

Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver
It was said about the first installment, and it can be said about Netflix's Rebel Moon (Part Two): it is a movie that only Zack Snyder fans will enjoy. The film continues to be a copy of the classic 'Seven Samurai', but in space: our heroes, led by Kora (Sofia Boutella), return to their small agricultural moon to prepare the defense against the invaders from the Empire. The story unfolds in a predictable manner (even more so if you've seen Kurosawa's classic), with Snyder's usual stylistic vices: overuse of slow motion and gratuitous Christian symbolism. If you liked the previous one (or the director's other movies), you will undoubtedly enjoy it. Otherwise, it might be better to skip it.
