Why watch this film?

Many people consider this to be the pinnacle of the classic Star Trek timeline. In the movie, the villain Khan Noonien Singh, seen in the original series episode “Space Seed”, returns to take revenge on now-Admiral Kirk. He then hijacks one of the Federation's starships, the USS Reliant, and engages in one of the greatest space battles in the franchise. The film is remembered for its twists and turns, memorable dialogue, and amazing battle scenes. Themes addressed include aging, nostalgia, and sacrifices we make for others. The ending is unforgettable. William Shatner as Kirk and of course Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock gave excellent performances. Another highlight is the great soundtrack by James Horner, which serves as an important character within the movie.
