Why watch this film?
This cradle of great stories and legends, Norse mythology is adapted by the Norwegians themselves. It is from here that, for example, J.R.R. Tolkien drew themes from the books of "The Lord of the Rings" and from where J.K. Rowling took some elements for the Harry Potter stories. In "The Mountain King" we have the great folkloric character Ashlad as the protagonist, in an adventure for the whole family. The feature film received the approval seal of its countrymen, being the second highest grossing movie in Norway in 2017.

The Book of Clarence follows a man who, aspiring to be someone in life, decides to capitalize on the popularity of Jesus of Nazareth for his own benefit. Through the biblical cliché, the film examines issues such as black identity, the distortion of faith by organized religions, and the very sense of goodness and compassion. It's somewhat uneven but nonetheless entertaining.
