Why watch this film?
Another chapter of the 'Jurassic Park' franchise - a direct sequel to 'Jurassic World'. Though the saga is doomed to repeat the same stories (here, there's a recycling of ideas from 'The Lost World' and 'Jurassic Park III'), the movie fulfills its premise: being a popcorn entertainment, full of special effects and action scenes to make the hearts of viewers race. For the nostalgic, the good news is the return of the character Ian Malcolm, played by Jeff Goldblum in 'Jurassic Park' - who became a source of memes on the internet. Another surprise in the cast is the cameo of Geraldine Chaplin, a veteran actress and daughter of Charles Chaplin.

The Orphanage

However, her son quickly begins to develop supernatural interests and conversations with imaginary friends. The tone is tense and director Juan Antonio Bayona (who would later direct the second film in the 'Jurassic World' franchise) knows how to mix the atmosphere of terror with a dramatic story.
Society of the Snow
The Andes tragedy that occurred in the early '70s is one of the most harrowing - and also famous and media-covered - survival stories of the 20th century, already adapted to the screen in films like "Alive," directed by Frank Marshall. What, then, can be said anew? Not much, but Spanish director J.A. Bayona (The Impossible) wisely chooses to refine not the "what" but the "how." "Society of the Snow" could be the definitive account of this challenging story, and here the director heightens the equitable doses of dread, terror, and hope that the protagonists went through, in a way that can be tearful but never sensationalist or that strays too far from the facts. If you enjoy survival narratives based on true events, or if you're approaching this story for the first time, it's an excellent choice.
The Impossible
The tsunami in Thailand in 2004 became a disaster of unimaginable proportions. It killed thousands, injured tens of thousands of people, and left families desperate. 'Lo imposible', from filmmaker J.A. Bayona (who would later direct the second film in the 'Jurassic World' franchise), focuses precisely on one of those families. In this case, an American couple (Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, both very good) who are spending their vacation with their children in this tropical paradise and suddenly find themselves in the middle of this natural disaster. With powerful performances and jaw-dropping visual effects, 'Lo imposible' is one of those disaster films that keeps you glued to the screen, desperate to know how it will end. Get the popcorn, hold back the tears, and enjoy the movie.
