Why watch this film?

Director Don Michael Paul has specialized throughout his career in action films with a 1980s and 1990s feel. Lots of fighting, little plot, and lots of violence. It was like this in 'Death Race: Anarchy', in 'The Scorpion King 5: The Book of Souls' and it is now also in 'Jarhead: Law of Return'. Here, with a plot that mixes 'The Big Hero' with 'White House Down', a group of soldiers tries to survive in the midst of a strong armed ambush at the US Embassy in the Middle East. There are no great genre reinventions, nor does Don Michael Paul try to undo the figure of the American savior soldier and the crazy Arab terrorist. Therefore, 'Jarhead: Law of Return' has a certain audience that will have fun with this type of story that has already become a subgenre.
