The Purity of Vengeance

Detectives race against time to solve mysterious disappearances linked to an institution.

Why watch this film?

The Danish police franchise 'Department Q' has gained strength in recent years with films like 'Department Q: Guardians of Lost Causes' and 'Department Q: The Absent'. Now it returns to use the classic elements of the genre's stories: desperate police officers with personal problems, having to run against time to unravel obscure crimes. In the case of this fourth chapter of the saga, 'Journal 64', the detective-protagonists must follow the thread of clues and hints to understand how three mummified corpses are connected with crimes of the past. Although with some rhythm problems, the feature film well directs the franchise and shows how the police genre, although often repetitive, can be found in the clichés and bases of the genre to reinvent itself and surprise. Highlight also for Nikolaj Lie Kaas ('Angels and Demons'), the face of the series.
