Why watch the movie Proxima?
"Most movies about astronauts and space travel are led by men. Think 'Interstellar', 'First Man', 'Moon' and even 'Lost in Space'. That's why it's so interesting to see the work of filmmaker Alice Winocour (from 'Augustine'). Here, she tells the story of a female astronaut (Eva Green, from 'The Dreamers') who has to deal with the toxic and macho environment, as well as aspects of motherhood -- while the male colleagues talk little about their children, this protagonist has to cope with the distance from her daughter and the obligations imposed by society. So, although there are some discussions in an excess of subplots, 'Proxima' is a movie that knows how to talk about current issues with strength and originality that catches the attention and captivates. Finally, a special mention for Eva Green, in one of her strongest and most intense roles of her career."
