"Netflix has been making more and more efforts in recent years to bring Bollywood productions -- as India's Hollywood is called -- to the screen. 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl', an exclusive production of the streaming platform, is another example of this. Here, the viewer is invited to dive into a plot that has no dances or musical stories. In fact, the production takes an unusual path in telling the story of India's first combat pilot. Inspiring, especially being a reference in a country that maintains a patriarchal and macho structure, the film is one of those you come to the end wanting to read more about that character, understand more of its pitfalls. However, it is worth saying: although it has an Americanized air and a bit longer than the traditional Bollywood cinema, this is not a typical drama that we are used to seeing on the big screen. There are some exaggerated passages, some badly told stories. But in the end, it doesn't matter where it comes from. It remains a strong, powerful story that should leave any viewer, no matter where they're from, moved."
