In 33 AD, a Roman Tribune in Judea is tasked to find the missing body of Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead.
"A movie about Jesus that avoids all the clichés of religious plots. 'Risen' brings mystery to the well-known story of Christ with a different point of view. We are used to having the narrator's perspective, or Jesus's, in these productions, this time the plot is carried by a secondary character. Director Kevin Reynolds, the same from 'The Count of Monte Cristo' and 'Tristan & Isolde', has a lot of experience with epics and brought his vision to such a popular story - which made the movie quite interesting."
