Impressed by cowboy Ned Underwood's rescue of a drowning child, Rose Dale is pleased to find herself on the same westward-bound train with Ned. She relates her purpose of investigating reports of rustling at her ranch, and he offers to take a dishwashing job on her ranch and find out who is responsible. Rose's foreman, who wants her ranch for himself, tries to scare her away, then takes more drastic measures. To rescue Rose, who has been locked in a cabin with a bear, Ned wrestles with the animal, lassoes an airplane, climbs up the rope, and tosses the villain out of the airplane.
