Why watch the movie The Survivors?
"Survivors – A historical drama that tells the story of Black and white survivors of a slave shipwreck, stranded on a deserted island in the 19th century. The film explores the deconstruction of social hierarchies and questions the possibility of harmonious coexistence outside the colonial structures of the time. The final work of Portuguese filmmaker José Barahona, Isolated Tides is a powerful allegory about the legacy of slavery and the moral dilemmas humanity faces in the face of barbarism."
