Why watch the movie The Story of Racheltjie De Beer?
"If you want to watch something light, it's best to leave 'The Story of Racheltjie De Beer' for another day. The movie tells the story of a girl named Racheltjie de Beer who made the greatest sacrifice of her life to save her brother. This is the cinematic adaptation of the book 'The Story of Racheltjie De Beer', written by Brett Michael Innes, who co-wrote the screenplay. Racheltji is very popular in South Africa and her story has become one of the most well-known in the region. Now, the whole world can get to know it with the feature film - which is very well worked and difficult to watch, due to the strong emotional side of the plot, 'The Story of Racheltjie De Beer' has a slow pace, careful costume and breathtaking landscapes, giving the impression that we are in the nineteenth century. It is worth mentioning that the protagonist Zonika de Vries delivers an excellent performance, which makes the story even more credible and moving."
