A couple's love intensifies in Caracas, but secrets threaten their relationship.
Why watch the movie The Dance?
"That a movie is starred by a beauty queen may sound frivolous, but 'El baile' is anything but banal, and ex Miss Venezuela, Irene Esser (‘Bolívar’) shows great acting skills in this enigmatic leading role. With an effective black and white photography, it's a movie that takes the thematic concerns and stylistic sensitivity of film noir and translates them to the contemporary Latin American context (like Mexican production ‘Rencor tatuado’ did at its time), in an allegory of corruption and ungovernability, with a healthy dose of sensuality and fatalism."
