"After the huge success of Zack Snyder's '300', the story is back in theaters with the mediocre sequel '300: Rise of an Empire'. Here, Snyder steps away from directing to Noam Murro (of 'Living and Learning'). The effects are much heavier, though not with such remarkable quality - the CGI blood even causes nervous laughter. In addition, the story set at sea makes things more dynamic, but also a bit more confusing. However, the strong presence of Brazilian Rodrigo Santoro ('Carandiru') stands out, consolidating himself in international cinema."
