A Filipina teen from a small Texas town fights to pursue her dreams as a country music performer while having to decide between staying with her family or leaving the only home she has known.
"From Filipino-American director Diane Paragas, 'Yellow Rose' is also a love letter to country music and a bittersweet story about the collision of dreams with harsh reality - in this case, that of thousands of undocumented immigrants living in precariousness (economic and legal). It's an interesting contrast between the plot and the musical aspirations of its protagonist (singer of American roots music), calling into question the so-called "American dream". The cast is phenomenal, featuring Filipino-descended actress Eva Noblezada as well as country singer Dale Watson."
