"A movie inspired by the classic epic of Érico Veríssimo, 'O Tempo e o Vento' is one of those movies that gives pride to national cinema. Although there are some clichés that pull the plot into unnecessary novelistic tones, and some scary performances, the production is beautiful, breathtaking. The photography, alongside the brilliant direction of Jayme Monjardim, sets the tone of the feature film, which shows how Brazil also knows how to produce its own epics and, above all, move. Absolute highlight for the performance of Fernanda Montenegro who, even with a limited cast, knows how to move in each scene."
