Why watch the movie You Deserve a Lover?
"Selected at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, "Mereces un amor" is the acclaimed feature debut of writer-director Hafsia Herzi, best known as a breakthrough actor in 2008's César Award-winning film "Cuscús" (by Abdellatif Kechiche, director of "Blue Is the Warmest Color"). It's a movie that looks at heartbreak and fleeting romances out of spite in a natural and human way, from a female perspective. Herzi also stars in it, delivering an impressively spontaneous performance, and while the plot could be tiresome and frustrating, it also captures the bittersweetness and irony of romance authentically."
