"People talk a lot about the nature, flora and animals of the Pantanal. But what about the people? And the pantaneiros? This people, always with many stories and a different lifestyle, is the heart of the good documentary 'Pantanal: The Good Innocence of Our Origins'. Directed by newcomer Izabella Faya and Eduardo Nunes (from the excellent 'Unicorn'), the feature film shows details of the pantaneiros' life, showing the subsistence of this people, their mythologies, their beliefs, their families and their stories. It is a sensitive and delicate film, which helps the viewer to go beyond what is always said about the Pantanal. The film, undoubtedly, could go further in some reflections, as did 'Amazon Groove' and 'Being So Old Cerrado'. However, with its sensitivity, 'Pantanal' goes far. And it manages to move."
