Why watch the movie Summer White?
"Selected at the Sundance Film Festival and the Morelia Film Festival in 2020, 'Summer White' is probably one of the most taciturn and subtle films about the whirlwind of emotions, rebellions, and insecurities that mark adolescence. The dramatic tension is not so much verbal as physical, from the movements and presences of bodies. However, its edipic tints mark its most problematic element, not moral but narrativally: just like its protagonist, the script doesn't quite know what to do with it, either in its beginning or its ending."
