'Picciridda: Con i piedi nella sabbia' shows that generational and emotional differences make it difficult for a granddaughter to have a relationship with her grandmother. Director Paolo Licata does a delicate job, although it would have been more interesting to have a woman in charge of the story, and is intimate about this relationship. It is worth mentioning that this is Licata's first feature film."
