Why watch the movie Landless?
"The documentary is important, especially, to put into perspective the largest and most important group that advocates for agrarian reform in Brazil, the Landless Movement. The group is often seen in a negative light by the mainstream media and the general public opinion, and the documentary grants them a more dignified and just outlook, following their routine in occupations and serving a political purpose, denouncing the ills and gaps in the country's agrarian division, and the corruption among the landowners. The portrait often becomes intimate, with powerful images and a subjectivity in the gaze, without straying from its social narrative. In the future, this movie will be an important record of the social movement, and its debate should be encouraged."
