A collection of 6 short films. Six filmmakers from underrepresented backgrounds were selected and provided with the opportunity to share their perspectives and creative visions that will show audiences what it means to be seen.
"Launchpad has been a long-time way to launch new talent, both in front of and behind the camera. Disney, which has historically invested in the format, has brought these shorts to Disney+ - and the 'Launchpad' collection is a snapshot of this. It is a group of filmmakers with diverse voices, selected through online calls and who, after going through various courses and receiving studio support, were able to take their stories to the set. This resulted in six shorts, which reach a global audience through streaming. Among these stories is 'Dinner is Served', which touches on issues such as xenophobia, bullying, cultural shock, dreams and the rigidity of society and institutions. It certainly makes us reflect on the way the world treats us and, above all, how we relate to others."
