"Space has always been a good setting to talk about loneliness and, consequently, fear of the unknown -- from 'Alien: The Eighth Passenger' to 'Ad Astra'. In 'Passengers', filmmaker Morten Tyldum ('The Imitation Game') dives right into these premises to tell the story of two passengers on a spaceship (Pratt and Lawrence) who are awakened before their time on a space mission. More precisely 90 years. From this, a desperate situation is created for the two, who simply will not make it alive to the final destination. Tyldum works well with the genre's clichés, showing how loneliness can exist even with company. The big problem with 'Passengers' is in its conclusion, the target of fury from critics and part of the public, who see the script glorifying an unethical attitude. It is up to each one to conclude and, mainly, to provoke: what would you do if you were in the shoes of these characters?"
