Why watch the movie High Ground?
"Twenty years after the interesting 'Yolngu Boy', filmmaker Stephen Johnson returns behind the cameras with another noteworthy work: 'High Ground'. Exploring ancestral themes of Australia, the feature film travels to the beginning of the 20th century with the story of Gutjuk, a young Aboriginal man, who joins former soldier Travis to locate Baywara, the most dangerous warrior in the Territory, his uncle. Although stumbling upon a story of "white savior," the filmmaker knows how to blend the roots of Australia with good cinema, which is no less than what we see in the genre in the United States. Good performances and visuals, in particular, stand out. And 'High Ground' becomes, in addition to a good drama with hints of thriller and adventure, a good dive into the history of the Oceanian country."
