Marta may be an orphan, and she may be affected by a lethal illness, yet she is the most positive person one can meet. She wants a boy to fall for her. Not any boy - the most handsome of them all. One day, she may have found her match.
"Think of a mix of 'Amélie Poulain's Fabulous Destiny' and 'The Fault in Our Stars'. The color and eccentricity of the first with the similar relationship seen in the second. Strange, right? But that's exactly what 'Sul più bello' is. Full of color and with a very strange protagonist, we follow the relationship of a young woman with a genetic health issue with a boy who, in her view, is too much sand for her little wagon. From there, this Italian production directed by newcomer Alice Filippi navigates between stereotypes to show how love can be true, redeeming, among other things. There are really embarrassing moments here, hiding your face, but there is truth in the essence of this film, which once again travels in this strange and unusual universe that mixes apparently terminal diseases in young people with relationships."
