Trailer
Why watch the movie The Spokeswoman?
"Maria de Jesús Patricio made history in Mexico. She is a traditional Nahua medicine healer and human rights activist in Mexico, becoming the first indigenous woman to aspire to the presidency in Mexico. 'The Spokeswoman', originally titled 'La Vocera', seeks to show a little more about the journey of this inspiring woman through the eyes of filmmaker Luciana Kaplan (from the interesting 'La revolución de los alcatraces'). It's not only interesting to follow her political journey, but also the fight in the Indigenous Government Council to preserve nature and for a new way of understanding progress in the world today. To be inspired and moved by the story."
